DIY: Elastic Floral Headband

This tutorial is showing you how to make a super easy bohemian-inspired headband. The supplies are inexpensive, and it takes less than an hour to make, so let's get down to business!
Before you begin, there's a few things you'll need to round up:
- Felt (I recommend a color that coordinates with the color of your flowers or your elastic)
- Hot glue gun and gluesticks
- Elastic ( I used black with a 1/2" width, but you can use any width or even just a store-bought elastic headband instead)
- Fake flowers (I used 7, but depending on the size flower you use, you may decide to use more or less)
- Sewing shears
- Needle and thread (Use the same color thread as your elastic)

If your fake flowers came on a stem, you will first need to remove the stem from the flower. Cut as close to the flower as you can to create a flat surface to glue on.
Next, measure the elastic around your head and cut it to size. If you are using a store-bought elastic headband, you can skip this step and the next 2 steps as well.
After the elastic is cut, put a dab of glue on one end of the strip. Take the other end of the elastic strip and lay it on top the glue, overlapping by an inch or so. The glue will hold the band together while you sew.
Using your thread and needle sew the elastic together.
I sewed two lines: one on each edge of where the elastic overlaps.
This is what mine looked like when I finished sewing. It isn't pretty, but it will get covered!
Next, cut felt ovals no larger than the size of the flowers. You will need one oval for each flower. The felt will help hold the flowers on the elastic.
Using your hot glue gun, glue your first flower down on the elastic. I suggest gluing the flower over the seam from the stitches to conceal them. Glue your remaining flowers down at what ever spacing you desire.
Glue the felt ovals on the back side of the elastic behind the flower.
Tuck the extending sides of the oval down and glue them to the base of the flower.
The back side will look like this after this step is completed, and the headband is done!
Just be sure to remove the glue strings before wearing :)
